The Robo-Lions, FIRST Robotics Competition team number 2199, are based at Liberty High School in Eldersburg, Maryland. Our goal is to inspire young people into entering careers related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). To accomplish this goal, the team competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a competition designed to deliver hands-on STEM experience to high school students.
While they started out as a humble little club in 2006, the Robo-Lions have evolved to become one of Liberty High Schools largest after-school programs. Aside from building a robot, team members also learn life skills, such as leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking, while also having a great time.
The team also maintains a strong presence in their community. One of the team's goals is to build and maintain relationships around Eldersburg, Carroll County, and the entire state of Maryland. They compete annually at the Chesapeake Regional, Maryland's largest FIRST Robotics Competition regional, where they forge strong partnerships with fellow Maryland teams and businesses.
As well as competing in FRC, the team also participates in FIRST Lego League through their mentorship of Oklahoma Road Middle School's three FLL teams. They also host the annual Roar of the Robots, a FIRST Lego League Qualifier Event at Liberty High School.
The team is always on the lookout to build partnerships within the community. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us.
